The course will describe Social Skills Therapy, including Social Skills Groups and how they work and for whom. There will be a discussion of Therapeutic Gaming and the use of Play, Stories and Identity. Myths and archetypes will also be explored.

Presenters: Rebecca Lanier, MA, APC, AMFT is a psychotherapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She graduated from Richmont Graduate University with her master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Before her graduate studies, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Georgia where she specialized in Human Development and Family Science, Family Life Education, Entrepreneurship, and Intervention. Rebecca specializes in social skills development, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, mood disorders, anger management, developmental and learning disorders, such as ADHD, family and life transitions, and other behavioral and familial difficulties. Rebecca also facilitates process-oriented, therapeutic gaming, and social skills groups.

Mike Fields, MS, LPC. Mike has a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Rehab Counselling.
