Presenter: A.J. Ramirez, EdD, LPC, CPCS.  Dr. Ramirez is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has worked in various aspects of the mental health field since 2007 and is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. When not teaching at the University, she owns and operates L.E.A.F. Therapy Services LLC a private counseling practice in Valdosta, GA that provides affordable and systemic therapy to people in the community.

Objectives of the training:

  • Participants will be able to list three ways to tackle working with clients who are politically, religiously, racially or sexually different from them.
  • Participants will gather tools for measuring implicit bias.
  • Participants will be able to share three ways to improve their own culturally competent lens.
